Werner Kornexl leads the environmental and natural resource management agenda in Cambodia and advises on forest landscapes across the greater Mekong region. Previously, he managed the global Program on Forests until recently and led the development of new global financial instruments on forest landscapes. He worked in the Brazil Country Office on forests, climate change and renewable energy. Subsequently, Werner was very active in the establishment of the World Bank Forest Carbon Partnership Facility. He later became the Environment and Natural Resources Coordinator for the Indonesia program, based in Jakarta, where he led the preparation of a landscape approach for Indonesia’s land and forest sectors. Previously, Werner worked for the Brazilian Environmental Agency and several private companies on natural resource management.
