William Rex is the Program Manager of the Cooperation in International Waters in Africa (CIWA) program, based at the World Bank. CIWA assists riparian governments in Sub-Saharan Africa in unlocking the potential for sustainable, climate-resilient growth by addressing constraints to cooperative water resources management and development. During his 18 years at the World Bank, William has served as the Global Lead on hydropower and dams, as team leader for large complex projects, and in corporate strategy functions. William has served on the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council on Water, the Stockholm Water Week’s Advisory Committee, and the 2030 Water Resources Group’s Steering Board. He is currently based in Nairobi.
