From 2009 to 2013 Yann Pouget has worked as migration specialist for the World Bank within the MENA Human Development network, and contributed to set up and expand the International Labor Mobility (ILM) program at the Center for Mediterranean Integration. He is now in charge of providing policy advice and technical assistance to North African countries to devise their migration strategies and strengthen their capacity to deliver international labor intermediation services. He is also working on win-win partnerships with labor receiving countries in Europe to pilot labor mobility schemes and joint training programs with North African countries in select sectors where labor needs exist on both sides such as health, hospitality, tourism and engineering.
Prior to this assignment he has worked in the microfinance sector and on local development projects in partnership with diaspora organizations in Latin America, North Africa and Western Europe. Yann Pouget is a graduate of the London School of Economics and the Paris Institute of Political Science (Science Po).
