Ye‐rin Um is a Financial Specialist at the World Bank’s Water Global Practice (GP). She has conducted financial analyses on several water and sanitation projects in various countries, including Cambodia, China, Honduras, Jordan, Kenya, Laos, Pakistan, Peru, and Somalia. She is currently working on water resource management and irrigation projects in Bangladesh and India.
Prior to joining the Water GP, she worked as a Financial Officer at the International Development Association team, where she was involved in the IDA17 replenishment process. She also served as a Special Assistant to Vice President for the East Asia and Pacific region. Before her work at the World Bank, she was a Senior Credit Risk Officer at Standard Chartered Bank.
She holds a Master’s degree in City and Regional Planning from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
