Yeon Soo Kim is a Senior Economist in the Global Unit of the Poverty and Equity Global Practice at the World Bank, where she co-leads two global programs: Fiscal Policy and Equity and Poverty and Equity Assessments. She previously led engagements on poverty and equity issues across multiple countries in the Europe and Central Asia and South Asia regions, including a posting in the Sri Lanka country office. Her work at the World Bank has focused on poverty, inequality, the equity impacts of fiscal policy, informality, and spatial disparities. Prior to joining the Bank, she was an Associate Research Fellow at the Korea Development Institute, specializing in labor markets and migration. Yeon Soo holds a doctorate in economics from the University of Maryland, College Park.
