Yevgeniya Savchenko is a senior economist in Education Global Practice of the World Bank working in Western and Central Africa region with specialization in skills development, labor markets, and human capital. She is leading policy dialogue and operations in Nigeria and Cameroon on skills development and secondary education and a number of analytical pieces in the region, including Africa Western and Central Regional Education Strategy and several Human Development public expenditure reviews. Prior to joining education team in Africa, Yevgeniya led policy dialogue on poverty reduction and equity in Latin America and the Caribbean and worked in skills and labor market issues in South Asia and Europe and Central Asia regions. She published in peer reviewed journals. She holds an M.S. in Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Ph.D. in Economics from Georgetown University. Before joining the Bank, she taught Econometrics and Statistics at Georgetown University..
