In JICA's Human Development Department, Yohei leads the global work in social security, disability, and development. He also conducts measures to disseminate the values of diversity and inclusion—especially in the context of mainstreaming disability—in various projects including those involving technical cooperation, grant aid, and official development assistance (ODA) loans.
Working on the long-term care insurance system including policy making, Yohei is also engaged in conducting dementia policy and measures, especially international collaboration to promote dementia- friendly communities in a global context. Yohei has also worked as a deputy director with the Health and Welfare Bureau for the Elderly within Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare.
He holds an MA in Disability and Global Development from the University of Leeds.
