Yondela has over 20 years’ experience in urban planning and real estate investment management having worked at national, sub-national and semi-public institutions. Prior to joining the World Bank, she was the Executive Director: Development Planning in the City of Johannesburg responsible for urban development policy and implementation.
Since joining the Bank in 2019 as a Senior Urban Specialist in the Europe and Central Asia region, she has worked in countries such as Romania, Cyprus, Kosovo, Slovakia, Greece, and more on a variety of assignments such as the Romania urban policy, Slovakia Catching-Up Regions Initiative, Functional Areas in the EU and urban growth modeling in Prishtina.
She holds an MSc in Cities from London School of Economics.
