Yue Li, a Chinese national, joined the World Bank in 2010 through its Young Professional Program. As a Senior Economist, Yue’s work broadly covers international economics, firm dynamics, economic geography, and urban economics. Her research has led to academic publications, among others in the Journal of International Economics and the Journal of Urban Economics. Prior to joining the Global Investment Climate Unit, Yue Li worked in the Office of the Chief Economist for the South Asia region, leading regional analytical work. Prior to that, Yue has co-authored the 2013 World Development Report on Jobs and worked on the Sub-Sahara Africa and East Asia regions. Yue holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Rutgers University and Master's degrees in Economics and Political Science from Syracuse University. Her Bachelor's degree is from Peking University, China.
