Yuko Okamura is a senior economist in the Social Protection and Jobs Global Practice at the World Bank. She has worked on and led various analytical and lending projects across East Asia, Middle East and North Africa, and West Africa to support governments in expanding social protection, including reforming and modernizing social assistance. With academic background in Economics, she has published work focusing on social assistance in the context of, for example, cash transfers, labor markets, targeting, service delivery, digital technologies, shock response, climate change and subsidy reforms.
