Yunziyi (Lisa) Lang is a Disaster Risk Management Specialist at the World Bank, based in Islamabad, Pakistan. She brings over nine years of experience in designing and delivering resilience-focused operations, technical assistance, and knowledge products. Her work centers on disaster preparedness, response and recovery, climate information and science, and the delivery of people-centered, last-mile-connected hydrometeorological (hydromet) services. Lisa has played a key role in preparing and implementing climate and disaster risk management operations in Pakistan and Afghanistan, including the Sindh Flood Emergency Housing Reconstruction Project (SFEHRP) and the Afghanistan Early Warning, Early Finance, and Early Action Project (ENETAWF). She led the Afghanistan Herat Post-Disaster Needs Assessment – Herat Earthquakes (2023) and served as a key author for the Pakistan Country Climate and Development Report (2022). In addition, she led the development of the Climate Change Knowledge Portal (CCKP), which underpins the climate and disaster risk screening process in the Bank. Lisa holds a Master’s degree in Climate and Society from Columbia University and a Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Meteorology from the Florida Institute of Technology.
