Yuri Okura worked at the University of Tokyo's Biodesign Department, supporting the development of medical devices to solve public health challenges in emerging and developing countries, and as the Japanese representative to Y7 in Italy in 2017, made policy recommendations on gender law to the leaders of the G7 countries. While in school, she worked in public affairs at the United Nations Volunteer Agency in Fiji. She holds an LL.M. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law and a J.D. from Waseda University Graduate School of Law (J.D., Honorable Mention). Pro bono work supporting young women in Japan; 2017 Associate Miss International Japan.
