Yu Ri Park (Yuri) is a Social Development Specialist at the Citizen Engagement and Social Accountability Global Solutions Group, Social Sustainability and Inclusion Global Practice, World Bank Group.
Yuri holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Pennsylvania and a master’s degree in international studies from Seoul National University, and has over eight years of experience in operations, knowledge management, and analysis related to Citizen Engagement and Social Accountability. From 2015 to 2017, Yuri worked at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) as a research fellow, supporting research and publication of best practices in management for development results with meaningful citizen engagement activities. In 2017 she moved to Santiago de Chile, and as a consultant for the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean, obtained citizen feedback from small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) through satisfaction surveys and interviews for research on how to maximize productivity through SME internationalization and foreign direct investment. In 2020 she rejoined the IDB, where she conducted research on e-procurement and supported a survey of public procurement authorities on technological public procurement platforms. Since joining the Bank in January 2021, Yuri has been leading citizen engagement monitoring and reporting, strategizing and conducting analysis on how to identify opportunities to deepen the impact of activities, training and knowledge sharing at the Citizen Engagement and Social Accountability Global Solutions Group. She also provides operational support for social sustainability and inclusion projects in the East-Asia Pacific region.
