Zeynep Lalik is a Certified Public Accountant with 24 years of experience both in the private sector and at the World Bank. She is currently working as a Senior Financial Management Specialist in the World Bank Turkey Country Office overseeing a portfolio of sectoral and multi sectoral projects in Turkey. She also serves as the Quality Assurance Financial Management Specialist in the Kazakhstan portfolio.
During her career at the World Bank she has led projects in Turkey, Georgia, Moldova and North Macedonia whres she pursued sector dialogue on several areas of public financial management including strategic planning, budgeting, public accounting, internal controls, supreme audit, parliamentary oversight as well as corporate governance of State Owned Enterprises and local government financial management as well as private sector accounting and auditing standards and public oversight.
Ms. Lalik is an accountant by profession and she worked at Deloitte Audit and Assurance Services and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies before joining the World Bank. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from Bilkent University, and a master’s degree in European Studies from the Middle East Technical University. She holds the CPA/SMMM, CIA (Certified Internal Auditor), CRMA (Certified Risk Management Assurance) professional certifications.
