Ziauddin Hyder is a Senior Health Specialist and the Cluster Leader for Health, Nutrition and Population (HNP) Global Practice in Cambodia and Lao PDR. In his role he leads health and nutrition operations, including knowledge agenda, and assists governments in the design and implementation of multisectoral nutrition and health system reforms. He started career as a Senior Nutrition Specialist and made significant contribution in moving knowledge and operation agenda forward for the Bank in support of the global Scaling Up Nutrition movement. Prior to joining the World Bank he occupied multiple senior positions in various parts of the world and gained hands-on experiences in teaching, research, project planning and implementation, working with Bangladesh Rural Advancement Committee, Food and Agriculture Organization, Hospital for Sick Children, Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition and International Atomic Energy Agency. He was trained as a medical doctor, followed by master’s in food and nutrition planning and PhD in nutritional epidemiology.
