Growth in developing countries’ exports shifted away from the US market towards other high income and developing country markets in the first seven months of 2025 compared with the same period of 2024. The Trade and Development Chart shows that developing country exports to the US decreased $55 billion or 8.6 percent in the first seven months of this year compared with the same period of 2024 and increased $79 billion or 5.9 percent to other high-income countries and increased $101 billion or 10.3 percent to middle- and low-income countries.
In 2024, the US accounted for approximately 21 percent of developing country exports, while other high-income countries accounted for 45 percent, and low- and middle-income countries accounted for 34 percent.
