Alvina Erman is an Economist and a member of the Analytics team at the Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery (GFDRR). She focuses on all aspects of social resilience using mixed methods. She supports projects across regions, and practices in household survey design and evaluation in the context of disaster risk management and resilience-building. Previous to joining GFDRR, she worked on rural development, governance and impact evaluation in the Africa region at the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI). Before that, she spent two years as a World Bank Consultant working on public sector development and impact evaluation in the LAC region. In 2012, she was a fellow at UN-HABITAT’s regional office for LAC in Brazil, focusing on building fiscal capacity of mid-sized cities in Latin America. She holds a M.S degree in Economics from Lund University, Sweden.
