Alvina Erman is an Economist with the World Bank’s Independent Evaluation Group (IEG). Prior to joining IEG, she worked with the Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery (GFDRR), a World Bank trust fund. Alvina specializes in survey collection and analysis, as well as program and impact evaluation, in the context of disaster risk management and urban resilience, often with a focus on inclusion. Previous to joining the World Bank, she worked on agriculture, governance and impact evaluation in the Africa region with the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) and was a fellow with UN-HABITAT’s regional office for LAC in Brazil, focusing on building fiscal capacity of mid-sized cities in Latin America. She holds a M.S degree in Economics from Lund University, Sweden.
