Dr. Hellen Kiarie is the Head of the Division of Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) at the Ministry of Health in Kenya. She is a health systems expert who has a wide experience in implementing readiness assessments in health facilities, including communities. She led the implementation of the 2018 Health Facilities Assessment (HFA) in Kenya, as well as two COVID-19 readiness assessments in 2020, including a pilot using the WHO standard assessment tools. She has an expansive knowledge and experience in the development and implementation of M&E frameworks, and in tracking strategic plans that monitor the performance of the Kenyan health sector. Dr. Kiarie also serves as Co-chair of the global Health Data Collaborative, where she represents Kenya
