Yoonyoung (Yoon) Cho is a Senior Economist at the Social Protection and Labor Global Practice at the World Bank. She has been working on issues related to labor markets in developing countries including skills, entrepreneurship, activation and graduation, migration, and labor market intermediation, particularly focusing on the poor and vulnerable. She has worked in several countries in the Middle East and North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, and Europe and Central Asia. More recently, she has been focusing on the design and implementation of labor and social protection programs in Bangladesh and Pakistan. She has published papers in various peer-reviewed journals and contributed to numerous knowledge products at the Bank. She received a Ph.D. in Labor Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2005.
