Regional Manager for Central Asia

Moazzam Mekan is IFC's Regional Manager for Central Asia covering Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. He joined the World Bank Group in 1988 in its Latin America and the Caribbean Region.

Mr. Mekan has over 20 years experience in the field of infrastructure investments and public-private partnerships, having undertaken some of the most transformational projects in the transport, water, oil and gas, agriculture, and health and education sectors. Before relocating to Almaty, Kazakhstan, Mr. Mekan was based in IFC’s office in Dubai, where he was responsible for IFC’s transaction advisory practice on Public-Private Partnerships for the Middle East and North Africa Region.
