Violane Konar-Leacy

Senior Private Sector Specialist
Violane Konar-Leacy is a senior private sector specialist with the Trade and Competitiveness Practice of the World Bank Group. She is based in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, and manages the Central Asia Trade Logistics Project, covering Tajikistan and the Kyrgyz Republic. She is also the manager of the Europe and Central Asia Trade Facilitation Support Program, which assists selected countries in the region to align further with the WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement.

Violane also serves as the regional coordinator for trade facilitation in Europe and Central Asia. Prior to her assignment to Dushanbe, Violane managed the Western Balkans Trade Logistics Project. This project collaborated with regional customs administrations and SPS agencies to simplify and harmonize trade procedures, foster closer interagency collaboration, and champion risk-based controls and wider use of automation in border controls.

Prior to joining the World Bank Group, Violane worked at the US consulting firms Booz Allen Hamilton and KPMG, the Austrian Economic Chamber, and the US Department of Commerce.
