Abhilasha Sahay

Economist at the Gender Group at the World Bank

Abhilasha Sahay is an Economist at the Gender Group at the World Bank. In her current role, she is leading a portfolio of projects on jobs and female labor force participation. She also serves as the Regional Liaison for Africa West region. Previously, Abhilasha has worked at the Africa and East Asia and Pacific Gender Innovation Labs (World Bank) and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (Government of India). She has 5+ years of experience in the international development space with a key focus on economics of gender, crime, and family economics. She received her PhD in Economics at the George Washington University and Master’s in economics from London School of Economics.
