Alina Burlacu is a Senior Transport Specialist with 15+ years of experience, currently part of LAC Transport Unit. Previously, Alina was part of the Bank’s Global Road Safety Facility (GRSF), where she led road safety work with a diverse portfolio of governments, working at the nexus of national, municipal, and local governments in East-Asia Pacific and West and Central Africa.
Prior to joining the Bank, Alina served as the Personal Advisor to the Prime Minister in the Romanian Government, leading the elaboration of the National Road Safety Strategy, Action Plan, and related legislation. As a civil engineer, Alina also delivered road design consultancy services and is a certified road safety auditor. Alina is also a PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of Civil Engineering Bucharest, Romania, and has worked as a research assistant in Stuttgart University, Germany.
