Carolina Monsalve

Lead Economist and Program Manager, Transport Global Practice, World Bank

Carolina Monsalve is a Lead Economist in the Transport Global Department in the World Bank’s Vice Presidency for Infrastructure and Program Manager for Sustainable Mobility for All Partnership. She leads a team providing corporate support to project teams, has been part of a team providing analytics to the EU on how to accelerate the transition to clean transport, as well as leading the Global Knowledge Platform on transport data, modelling and analytics. She was a key member of the team preparing the WBG’s Climate Change Action Plan 2021-2025. She has previously led greenhouse gas accounting at the World Bank as well as climate corporate reporting, and has co-led the development of climate change policy commitments under IDA19. She has extensive experience leading policy and analytical activities with a special focus on clean transportation, as well as a task team lead for transport investment projects. Ms. Monsalve holds a B.A. Honors and an M.A.in Economics from the University of Cambridge, an M.A. in Sociology from Yale University, and an MPhil in Economics from the University of Oxford.
