Dean, a US national, has over twenty-five years of work experience with the World Bank. He has worked in four regions, including Latin America, Europe, Central Asia, Africa, and East Asia. He has divided his time between assignments in Washington and country offices in Brasilia, Hanoi, Nairobi, and Mexico City.
Dean has held various positions focusing on operational and knowledge work. Dean’s most recent role was as Global Lead for Housing and Urban Poverty and Lead Urban Specialist. Dean is currently the Program Leader for Sustainable Development for Mexico, Colombia and Venezuela where he is responsible for leading teams working in agriculture, environment and the blue economy, social sustainability and inclusion, urban development, land and disaster risk management and water.
Prior to joining the World Bank, Dean worked in the private sector in the development of affordable housing.
