Deepika Anand is the Operations Officer with the Health, Nutrition and Population Global Practice at the World Bank, currently based in New Delhi, India. PhD by qualification, she has over 12 years of work experience in the development sector, particularly on issues related to nutrition (covering over and under nutrition, fortification), food systems, food safety, early childhood development, health taxes and health systems strengthening. She is currently leading the work on maternal and child nutrition in Sri Lanka, health taxes for high fat, salt and sugar foods and linking food systems with rising burden of overweight/ obesity in SAR. She also co-leads the Uttarakhand health operations in India. She has numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals and has co-authored several HNP discussion papers and World Bank reports.
