Fiona Allen is the Senior Development Officer for UNHCR Jordan and has been with the Operation for two years. Prior to joining UNHCR she worked with UNWRA and UNDP in the MENA region and with UNOPS in Southern Sudan. Her background spans both humanitarian and development initiatives, with a strong focus on refugee and forced displacement issues and particularly there impact on women. During her time at UNRWA she had responsibility for Agency wide projects including two large health related initiatives, one focused on maternal care during pregnancy and the second supporting access to wider healthcare, in particular during times of emergency. Whilst in Southern Sudan her portfolio covered rule of law, access to education and agricultural development. Her current role seeks to identify long term, sustainable, in country opportunities for refugee inclusion within national frameworks. She has a Juris Doctor from Fordham Law School in New York and has contributed to various research papers as well as more recently supporting COVID 19 impact assessments.
