Harshil Sahai is a development economist focused on education, energy, and the environment. Harshil joined the World Bank as a Young Professional, and has contributed to flagship analytics on higher education, skills development, and private education, and supported skills and energy access operations in Tanzania, Zambia, and Lesotho. Harshil completed his PhD in Economics from the University of Chicago, where his research spanned education policy, climate adaptation, and energy economics. His work has been supported by the National Science Foundation, the National Academy of Education, J-PAL, and the IGC, and featured in VoxDev, BBC, and The Washington Post. Prior to graduate school, he was a Pre-Doctoral Fellow at the Energy Policy Institute at Chicago and completed his BA in Economics and Mathematics from Swarthmore College.
