Ismail Radwan is the World Bank Group lead economist for the GCC. Based in Kuwait between 2018-2020, Ismail now based in Riyadh. Ismail has 30 years of experience in private sector development and public sector reform issues in Europe, MENA, Africa and Asia.
Ismail’s work includes economic development, trade and growth strategies, private sector development, innovation and technology, special economic zones as well as governance. Prior to joining the World Bank Group, Ismail was a principal economist with PwC London where he worked around the world for a variety of blue-chip clients.
Ismail studied economics at Oxford University receiving a BA and MA before obtaining his masters’ degree in government administration from the University of Pennsylvania. He has lived and worked in more than fifty countries. Ismail is originally from Cairo Egypt and speaks English, Arabic and French.
