John Mackedon is the Global Editor for the World Bank, responsible for digital products across the institution, including the homepage and the Voices blog. Prior to this role, John worked as a External Affairs Officer the Europe and Central Asia (ECA) region of the World Bank, where he covered 11 countries in Central and Southeast Europe, as well as Turkey.
John joined the World Bank in 2009 as a consultant for the Gender and Agriculture team, working to link smallholder farmers to markets in countries around the world. Prior to joining the World Bank, John worked as a journalist and consultant in Tbilisi, Georgia where he covered regional affairs.
John holds a Masters Degree in European and Eurasian Affairs from the Elliott School of International Affairs and a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Oregon.
