Mikhael Iglesias is a climate and health specialist consultant working for the Health Climate, Environment and Disaster Program (HCED) at the Global Engagement Unit, and as a Climate and Health Focal Point for the Latin America and the Caribbean Region. He is interested in furthering the climate change adaptation and mitigation agenda in the health sector, incorporating research analyses into actionable projects and programs.
Originally from Venezuela, he previously worked at the only program for liver transplantation in the country, and as a professor and researcher developing projects on food insecurity and mental health in the context of complex humanitarian emergency. He is Licenciado in Psychology from Universidad Católica Andrés Bello, and has a Master’s in International Development – Latin American Studies from New York University.
