Mouna Hamden is currently working in Rabat, Morocco, as Senior Operations Officer in the Maghreb Country Management Unit. A Tunisian national, she first started working with the WBG as a consultant in 2013 before she joined FCI as Senior Private Sector Development Specialist in the Tunis office.
Over the past years, Hamden has worked on a variety of different IFC/IBRD policy reports, technical assistance projects, and financing operations in Tunisia, Morocco, and Algeria, focusing on investment promotion, entrepreneurship, start-up support, SME finance, and private sector policy reforms.
Before joining the Bank, Hamden held managerial positions in several private sector companies. She worked with the African Development Bank economic department and has also worked in the research department for the Africa region as well as on public sector advisory at McKinsey & Company. Throughout her career, Hamden worked and covered countries in Middle East and North Africa (MENA), Sub-Saharan Africa, and Europe.
Hamden is also a board member of a leading nonprofit job placement Network in the MENA. She has two master degrees, one from IHEC Carthage, Tunisia (economics, finance, accounting) and one from EM Lyon, France (Master of Science in Management).
