Sanaa Abouzaid is the Regional Manager of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) for Central America, based in Panama City. She is in charge of IFC's portfolio in Central America, overseeing the institution's operations in Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala. Mrs. Abouzaid has extensive experience in private sector development and has worked in investment and advisory services operations for over twenty years. Prior to her current appointment, she was the Regional Corporate Governance Leader for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region at IFC. Mrs. Abouzaid has been working with private sector companies in many regions, including Latin America, MENA, Asia and Africa. Mrs. Abouzaid is an expert in family business governance and the author of several publications, including the "IFC Family Business Governance Handbook," a guide to corporate governance best practices for family businesses. The Handbook has been published in English and subsequently translated into twenty additional languages. Mrs. Abouzaid holds an MBA in Finance and Investments from George Washington University and a Bachelor's Degree in Finance and Accounting from ISCAE. She speaks English, French, Arabic, Spanish and Italian.
