Silvia Malgioglio is a social scientist in the Poverty and Equity Global Practice, which she joined in 2016. Over the past few years, she has worked on global poverty and shared prosperity monitoring, as well as on survey design and implementation for household surveys, adopting the SWIFT rapid poverty estimation methodology across regions. She co-leads a global program on Data Tools for Operational Impact which supports data innovations for World Bank projects and country programs. She is currently serving as the Poverty and Equity Global Director’s special assistant. Prior to joining the World Bank, she worked for a U.K. development consulting firm managing a portfolio of private sector development programs in Sub-Saharan Africa. Silvia holds an MSc in Development Management from the London School of Economics and has worked extensively in Europe, Africa, and Latin America.
