Simon Bilo is a Senior Economist (consultant) with the Social Protection and Jobs Global Practice in the MENA region at the World Bank in Washington DC. After receiving an economics Ph.D. from George Mason University in 2013, he became an assistant professor at Allegheny College, where he taught various courses, including Macroeconomics and International Economics. In December 2019, Bilo joined the World Bank, and he has worked primarily on the analysis of labor markets and education systems of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Malaysia. Bilo’s published research pertains to business cycles, macroeconomic policy, international economics, and entrepreneurship.
