Son-Nam Nguyen is a Lead Health Specialist with the World Bank’s Health, Nutrition and Population Global Practice in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Region. With 25 years of work experience in global health, Nguyen has been leading and advising World Bank teams in lending operations, analytical work and policy dialogues in health system strengthening and disease control programs, with a focus on service delivery, quality of care, pay-for-performance, governance and accountability in health, monitoring and evaluation, etc..
Nguyen has worked in various World Bank regions (Africa, Europe and Central Asia, East Asia and Pacific, MENA, South Asia and the Caribbean) in different settings — low, middle and high income countries. Prior to joining the World Bank in 2000 as a Young Professional, he was a medical officer with the Evidence and Information for Policy Cluster of the World Health Organization in Geneva. His educational background is medicine and public health.
