Thomas Maina is a York University trained health economist with over 20 years of experience in the fields of health care financing, policy, planning, and budgeting. He is an expert in health systems strengthening, health financing, health resource tracking, and economic evaluation of health programs. He has extensive experience in public policy, planning and budgeting, health economic analysis, and in presenting health policy results at the highest levels. He is currently the Chief of Party of the Uganda Health System Strengthening (UHSS) Activity.
Maina previously worked with the World Bank in Kenya where he coordinated implementation of activities under the Kenya Reproductive Maternal Newborn Child and Adolescent Health (RMNCAH) Multi-Donor Trust Fund Technical Assistance (TA) that aims to strengthen national and county health systems for effective implementation of RMNCAH activities.
