Michael Keenan is an Associate Research Fellow at the International Food Policy Research Institute in Nairobi, Kenya. His work aims to create policy-relevant findings for agricultural development through various quantitative methods. His recent work has focused on the role of artificial intelligence in policymaking and the role of digitally-enabled last-mile agents in agricultural systems. He has experience conducting research in Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda, and Yemen. Michael received his PhD in Development Economics from Wageningen University and Research and his master’s degree in Specialized Economic Analysis from the Barcelona School of Economics.
