The new Documents and Reports (D&R) website, which gives users easier access to all World Bank Group public documents from 1946 till today, launched March 30 and is ready for business.
The site comes with better search capabilities and more user-friendly features. This is one of the first steps to replace the old D&R site, also known as the World Development Sources (WDS) site and the redesign was based on feedback from many different user groups. Key features of the new site include:
- A new multilingual search tool with improved retrieval of information capability in the Bank’s six official languages, (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish as well as English). Enhancements to the different language sites will continue based on user feedback.
- A "search within" feature that allows users to narrow their search to the results of their initial search.
- The ability for users, wherever they are on the site, to access content on all the six corporate language sites, without having to return to the homepage. A link to all the languages is available on the top navigation of all pages on the site, giving users instant access.
- More user-friendly site navigation, with shorter, more meaningful URLs, as well as other features that bring the site into compliance with the style guide developed by the Web Program Office (WPO).
We will continue to collect and analyze your feedback and make the necessary enhancements based on your recommendations. Please send your feedback to documents@worldbank.org.
